Scoring Guidelines + Feedback Reports

Scoring is explained on the opening page of the application. The Training APEX Awards ranking is determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs, how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives, and their effectiveness in terms of business impact.

All applications are judged quantitatively by an outside research company and qualitatively by Training‘s editor/publisher, Lorri Freifeld, and the Training Hall of Famers (organizations that earned a Top 10 placement in the Training APEX Awards rankings for four consecutive years):

Birmingham Water Works Board McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.
BNSF Railway Medical Solutions
Booz Allen Hamilton Nationwide
Dollar General Corporation PwC
KLA Corporation Rosendin

After the rankings are announced at the APEX Awards Gala, all Training APEX applicants (including those who did not receive an APEX Award) receive a FREE feedback report, qualitative scorecard, and benchmarking statistics. They also have the opportunity to have a call with Editor/Publisher Lorri Freifeld to go over their results and identify areas they might be able to improve upon in the following year’s application.
